Custom suits in Chiang Mai are significantly cheaper than in Europe, the US, or Australia — but “affordable” is not the same as cheap. The goal is a suit you will still want to wear six months after you get home. That means getting the price right and getting the fit right at the same time.
At Keck Custom Tailor, Lucky has been fitting suits for 20 years. The shop is in Chiang Mai Old City on Samlarn Road and is open every day from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Suits start at 6,500 THB and go up to 10,500 THB depending on fabric. Shirts start at 1,300 THB. A free tie is included with every suit order.

Pricing depends almost entirely on fabric choice. The construction, fittings, and alterations are the same at every price point — for a full breakdown of those steps, see the tailoring process page. You are not paying for less skill at the lower end — you are paying for a different cloth.
| Price range | What you get | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 6,500 – 7,500 THB | Entry tropical wool or wool blend, clean two-piece suit, two fittings included | One-trip travelers, first custom suit, budget-conscious buyers |
| 7,500 – 9,000 THB | Mid-range tropical wool (200–240g), wider fabric selection, more lining options | Business travelers, people building a wardrobe, events |
| 9,000 – 10,500 THB | Premium wool or wool-silk blend, full canvas construction available, full pattern range | Weddings, executive meetings, suits you want to keep for years |
Shirts start at 1,300 THB for a basic dress shirt — for more tips on stretching your budget, see the budget-friendly suits guide. in poplin or Oxford cloth and go up to 2,000 THB for better cotton weaves. Every suit order includes a free tie.
The biggest waste in budget tailoring is adding too much. A simple suit in the right fabric will outlast and outperform a complicated suit in cheap cloth. Here is what actually matters:

If you are comparing tailors on price, do not start with the lowest number. Start with these three questions:
If one of those three is missing, the deal is weaker than it looks regardless of the headline price.
Most suits at Keck are ready for a first fitting within 24 to 48 hours. If you are in Chiang Mai for three or more days, you have enough time for a proper suit. If you are tighter on time, Lucky can often arrange a same-day or next-day option for simpler orders — ask when you come in.
A practical itinerary for a three-day trip: visit on arrival day or the morning of day two, choose fabric and get measured (about 30 minutes), return for a fitting on day three, collect the finished suit before you leave. Lucky can also arrange hotel pickup or airport delivery if your schedule is tight.
“I came in with a clear budget and Lucky worked with it honestly. No upsell, no pressure. The suit was ready the next day and it fit better than anything I’ve bought off the rack at twice the price.”

“I was nervous about spending money on a custom suit but Lucky showed me exactly what I’d get at each price point before I committed. I went for the mid-range wool and I’m glad I did. Five stars.”
